To the Shores of Iwo Jima, made in 1945, by the US Military documents the landings and some of the fiercest combat of the war in the Pacific.

Defended by 18,000 Japanese only 216 would be taken prisoner just over a month later. But only after 100,000 American troops had been committed and 26,000 dead and wounded, the only battle where the US Marines suffered more casualties than the Japanese.

Four Cameramen would be killed in filming and another ten wounded, but not before capturing the iconic picture of the raising of the flag on Mount Suribachi.

Only £3.50 for the full 18 minutes!
